Week 9 Complete

Very relaxed week here. The later half of the week we just did reading, writing and math which is fine by me, things got busy Wednesday afternoon and they aren't going to slow down until Monday.

With Halloween right around the corner we read about our skeleton and did a skeleton craft. Tamarin's skeleton looked very interesting.... more like the Kali ceremony set from from Indiana Jones.

We talked more about Egypt and Africa. We read Ms. Frizzle's Adventures: Ancient Egypt that I posted at the beginning of the week.

I loved this book as a kid, I'm thinking we might skip Percy Jackson since Tamarin hasn't mentioned it lately and start this as our next chapter book since Tamarin is interested in Egypt.

Lemur surprised me this week. She wrote mom with no help. She wrote many letters to me this week, "Mom" scribble, scribble, scribble. She also cut out two triangles and glued them together to make the Himalayas. So we talked a little bit about where the Himalayas were. I don't think I've mentioned it before, but I love the Scooby-Doo movies. They are a neat way to introduce the kids to different cultures and places without being "educational".

This weekend I am going to sit down and map out the next 6 weeks. Capuchin will be here by the end of that and we will start our winter break.
