The girls absolutely loved it. I miss going to school performances. It's fun to see the kids try to stay in character.
We read the Horton Hears a Who and I made clovers for them to play with (they double as truffula trees). I used, "If I had the clover I would hide it...." as a writing prompt. She stuck with the movie version, "in a cave on a flower." She drew a picture to go with it.
I had planned on doing Green Eggs and Ham with ham sandwiches and this kind of green eggs
We may still get to that this week when I don't feel so awful. I've eaten the equivalent of one meal over the last two days. The idea of making food, in particular green food, does not appeal to me right now.
Today was our Cat in the Hat day, my throat hurts so I let the kindle read it to them (Seuss apps are on sale right now btw). We had a balancing competition to see who could stack the blocks and other toys the highest before they fell. Then they balanced things on their head, different shapes, sizes, materials and we talked about why thing stayed put better than others. We used to have this Cat in the Hat I Can Do That! Game
The great thing about it is while it would have been nice to do all of this for Seuss' birthday I can always pull these out of my to do bag when I'm feeling better which will be soon hopefully.
