Tuesdays With Chris: Toilet Literature

My husband does have some interesting thoughts and brilliant ideas sometimes. Shhh... don't tell him I said that. Instead of claiming them as my own, I thought I would let him share them with all of you. Eventually it would be nice if he typed it up himself (with some minor editing help from me, aka "Don't tell them that!") this time I will do the typing. These are highlights from a recent conversation with my husband:

"Here is the problem with digital content."

When you visit someone's house and they have reading material in the bathroom, do you look at it? I mean, knowing that they are sitting on the john while reading it and the germs entailed. Do you peruse their literature? For me the answer is no.

"I ain't touchin' that. Pee encrusted magazines... mmmm."

While saving trees is a great thing, I am not sure magazines are among those that should be streamed to your ipad or kindle. Paper magazines that make it to the bathroom STAY in the bathroom until they are sent to their final resting place in the recycle bin or trash. Now many people wip out their phone while in the loo, that's fine. Your phone touches YOUR face.

"Your pee, your problem."

But we tend to pass our ereaders around, "Hey look at this!" They get set on beds, dressers, kitchen counters, etc. How many people wipe down their ereaders on the way out the bathroom? Maybe that is the next step in hospitality? Perhaps everyone should start putting a container of clorox wipes beside the soap dispenser.

Did I mention these thoughts are from the man who can't stand to clean toilets?
