What week am I on now? I've lost track...... This was a good week for schoolwork. We back tracked to some simpler work for Tamarin. Lemur really engaged this week and did work three days.
I ordered a few new ones. Complete shot in the dark. Don't know anything about them other than what is on their amazon description.
I'll let you know if they are any good. She enjoys worksheets. I'm a bit disappointed. I prefer the blank paper method from Oak Meadow, but if it works for her and she likes it, that's what matters, right?
UPDATE:
* Lollipop Logic is not very good. It's in black and white and the difficulty is all over the place, it's not progressive. Some of the pages are confusing, which item is X similar too, well it depends on your thinking, it technically could go with W or Y. I will use some of it, but my least favorite of the books.
* Mead problem solving is nice. It's in color, the logic in it is sound. It's a step below the difficulty of the Puzzles book. I've already used a few pages out of it.
* The Puzzles and Mazes books looks like it's steady on difficulty from beginning to end, pages are in color and looks entertaining. Probably the overall winner out of these three.
During our circle time on Monday the girls said they wanted to learn about spiders. I would have waited till Spring so we could go outside and search for webs, but plenty of web examples to be found inside I guess.
We did some crafts.
I had hoped we'd get to this one, but we may not since the 5 year old is retaining her year 4 ornery.
We read about spiders in these two books.
In case you are wondering, no, I do not buy everything off amazon. Most of my book collection is from second hand shops. I LOVE used book stores. I post the links to amazon so that people can read up on them and not just take my word for it.
No hands on science this week. I don't need any messes right now above and beyond what I have every day!
