Princess Party

I made it nearly 7 years before one of my children chose a princess party. For those of you who don't know me personally I am the antithesis of princess.

I always have been the epitome of tomboy, but it's important to me that my kids grow up to be their own person so my girly girl got her girly party.

Princess paint party that is. I know there are places to rent and paint, but that wasn't in the budget. So on to the craft store :) $1.29 for each paint palette, about $1.50 for each flat canvas, and primary color acrylic paint $6 each which made one cheap and fun paint party.

The cake didn't come out the way I wanted, but in my defense I was pressed for time. I prefer to use a butter based icing and you have to keep sticking it back in the fridge to keep it from melting. Well, I was working on the cake till guests began arriving. I didn't have time to keep sticking it in the fridge. I didn't get to add any flowers or color/pattern to the sides of the cake. I was lucky to get what I did on it. Oh well, the kids were impressed :)
