So, It Has Come to This

I wish I had some clue where this came from. I found it on pinterest (of course!). It seems fitting for today. I am sleep deprived! So, it has come to this. The christmas tree is ruined! So, it has come to this. I'm too tired to go the play date today. So, it has come to this. See, instantly makes you feel a little bit better. I think when we had a little bit of comic relief to our seemingly frustrating problems it can put things in perspective.

I usually tease the girls when they whine because that's what my mom always did to me. I remember being frustrated when she would do it to me, but I have been unsure how to point out the whining in a way that would make it clear, so when they whine I whine back. Tamarin hates it! I have been wondering what I could do differently that would make her less frustrated, but still get my point across. I think I'm going to try this phrase today and see if it helps. Not that she would grasp the full meaning of it, but it would help me put it in perspective, too. The whining is annoying, but it is by no means a big deal.

I already know how this is going to go,
" But I wanted it!"
" So, it has come to this."
" Huh, what's that mean?"
" It's the end of the world because you didn't get your way. It has come to this."
" Mom." (said in that whiny super long vowel way)

Hopefully she will be just enough annoyed to not want to hear me say it, but not so incredibly annoyed that it creates a bigger problem which is what I'm running into now. She whines about the fact I'm whining at her.

What do you do to curb the whining?? I'm open to more suggestions! Please post away!
